¶ 1. J.E. (Bill) Mitchell, in his capacity as Lee County Tax Collector, filed suit against Thomas Truck Lease, Inc. (Thomas) and Gibson Container, Inc.(Gibson) in the Lee County Chancery Court in 1991, claiming that the defendants owed ad valorem taxes. After a trial the chancery court found that Thomas and Gibson owed $246,078.78 in ad valorem taxes to Lee County and entered judgment...
