Defendant, Lavar Nelson, was charged by grand jury indictment with two counts of aggravated rape in violation of La. R.S. 14:42 and with one count of aggravated burglary in violation of La. R.S. 14:60.1 He pled not guilty, and, after a trial by jury, was found guilty of two counts of attempted aggravated rape on the aggravated rape charges and guilty as charged with respect to the aggravated burglary charge.
