This is an insurance subrogation dispute between Safeco Insurance Company and its insured, Randal R. Peterson. Despite Safeco's contrary instructions to Mr. Peterson and his attorney, Mr. Peterson settled a personal injury case for $20,000, and included Safeco's subrogated personal injury protection (PIP) interest of $3,997.64 in the settlement.
