Appellant was convicted in a bench trial of attempted aggravated kidnapping and attempted aggravated sexual assault. See Tex. Penal Code Ann. § 15.01 (West 1994), § 20.04 (West Supp.1999) & § 22.021 (West 1994 & Supp.1999). Due to prior convictions, appellant's punishment was enhanced to fifty years' imprisonment.
