On July 15, 1994, Larry Cola (Cola), an Assumption Parish juvenile officer, was on his way to dinner in an unmarked vehicle owned by the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office. Edith Cola, his wife (Mrs. Cola), was a passenger in the vehicle. Cola was making a left turn when he collided with a vehicle operated and owned by Douglas Harris.
