In March of 1994, at Miami International Airport, Arturo Jesus Ramos stopped the van he was driving, and got out. The driverless van backed into Zenaida Rodriguez-Cespedes and her son (herein referred to collectively as Rodriguez) who were crossing a pedestrian walkway.
