Defendant Nathaniel Lambert was charged by grand jury indictment on 3 February 1997, with one count each of aggravated rape, La. R.S. 14:42; aggravated burglary, La. R.S. 14:60; and aggravated crime against nature, La. R.S. 14:89.1. Defendant pled not guilty at his arraignment on 18 February 1997. A twelve-person jury found defendant guilty as charged on all counts on 11 August 1997. On 15 August 1997, the trial court sentenced defendant to life imprisonment...
