This litigation arose out of a collision between a 1980 Mack Convention Truck Tractor and Trailer (the truck) operated by Mr. Don Gautreaux and a single locomotive owned by Southern Pacific Transportation Co. (SP), at the crossing of Parish Road No. 6-17 and SP railway crossing No. SP767-952D (the crossing), located in Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana.
