OPINION

EHRLICH, Judge.

¶ 1 Richard Edward Hickman ("defendant") was convicted of one count of burglary in the third degree, a class 4 felony. An "historical prior felony conviction" had been alleged by the state. Upon a trial of this contention, the court found that, on June 12, 1987, in Montana, the defendant had been convicted of forgery, the equivalent of a class 4 felony in Arizona.1 The defendant then was sentenced...
