Henry C. Bailey, an Alabama prisoner, appeals the district court's denial of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. Bailey was convicted in 1991 of one count of illegal distribution of crack cocaine. Pursuant to the Alabama Habitual Felony Offender Act ("AHFOA"), Ala.Code § 13A-5-9, the court enhanced his sentence to life imprisonment because of three prior drug-related convictions...
