WILLIAMS, Judge.

The defendant, Johnny P. Gass, was charged by bill of information with attempted armed robbery, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64 and 14:27. After a jury trial, the defendant was found guilty as charged. Pursuant to the Habitual Offender Statute, LSA-R.S. 15:529.1, the defendant was adjudicated as a second felony offender. The trial court deviated from the statutorily mandated minimum sentence and sentenced the defendant to serve ten years at hard labor...
