In this appeal, Kennecott Utah Copper Corporation seeks to overcome one of the most demanding standards in American law: that defining when a court may vacate a labor-arbitration award. Kennecott appeals the district court's refusal to do so. The arbitrator issued an award upholding a grievance which challenged a Kennecott rule that employees must report 20 minutes before their shift to be transported to their work sites.
