On February 1, 1998, the defendant, Vanessa Kay Gregrich, was involved in a two-vehicle accident on Louisiana Highway 191 in Zwolle, Louisiana. The defendant crossed the centerline on Highway 191 and struck a vehicle driven by Curtis M. Herren.
