Defendant, Anwar Haddad, was convicted of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95.1, and sentenced accordingly. He appeals the conviction and sentence to this court. The record shows that on February 21, 1998, the Jefferson Parish District Attorney filed a bill of information charging defendant, Anwar Haddad, with one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
