The Louisiana Patient Compensation Fund (LPCF) appeals a jury verdict awarding the plaintiffs $900,000 in damages, which was reduced to $500,000 by the judgment pursuant to the statutory cap of La. R.S. 40:1299.42, for the wrongful death of their daughter Carolyn Gladney, who died as a result of shock while at Huckabay Hospital. LPCF further appeals the percentage fault assessed to Huckabay.
