Defendant, Lennett Oakley, was indicted in the circuit court of Winnebago County on one count of home invasion (720 ILCS 5/12-11(a) (West 1996)) and one count of aggravated battery (720 ILCS 5/12-4(b)(1) (West 1996)) in violation of the Criminal Code of 1961. Defendant was tried by a jury and found guilty of both offenses. He was subsequently sentenced to concurrent prison terms of six years for home invasion and...
