The United States Government brings this appeal challenging a district court order suppressing contraband evidence obtained in an automobile search. The district court held that covering the cargo area of a sport utility vehicle creates the "functional equivalent" of a trunk and places the covered area beyond the permissible scope of an automobile search incident to arrest.
