The Jefferson Parish District Attorney filed a bill of information charging defendant, Romalis Cook, with five counts of first degree robbery in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64.1. However, count five was subsequently amended to the reduced charge of attempted first degree robbery. LSA-R.S. 14:27:64.1. The matter thereafter proceeded to a bench trial.
