The relator, Shelly Richey (now Carroll) was found in contempt of court for failing to sign a promissory note as mandated by a court order rendered in connection with the community property settlement with her ex-husband, John Richey, Jr. She was sentenced to serve three months in the parish jail and to pay $500.00 for John's attorney's fees.
