This is an admiralty case involving comparative negligence and superseding intervening cause.

FACT

Captain Farr, the master of a fishing vessel, hired NC Machinery to repair an engine. The job was done in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, a busy place during the fishing season, so NC agreed to send a mechanic provided that the ship's crew would furnish necessary assistance...
