In this lawsuit, plaintiff Carlton Jackson names as defendants the former Sheriff of Barbour County, Alabama, and a number of his deputies, and claims that they violated his civil rights in two ways: first, they violated the fourth and fourteenth amendments to the United States Constitution by detaining him for 28 days without the benefit of an appearance bond or an initial appearance before a magistrate...
