On 29 January, 1998, defendant Lester J. Adams, Jr., was charged by bill of information with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, a violation of La. R.S. 14:95.1. He was arraigned 3 February, 1998, and pled not guilty. He filed a motion to suppress evidence, which was denied on 23 March, 1998. On 7 April, 1998, a twelve-member jury found defendant guilty as charged. He was sentenced on 6 May, 1998, to ten years hard labor without benefit...
