Appellant, Erskin Keith Harris, pled not guilty before a jury to two counts of aggravated sexual assault with a deadly weapon. See TEX. PEN. CODE ANN. § 22.021 (Vernon 1994). He was convicted on both, and the jury sentenced him to life in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
