The Georgia Transmission Corporation ("GTC") formerly known as Oglethorpe Power Corporation filed condemnation proceedings under the special master statute (OCGA § 22-2-102 et seq.) to obtain two parcels of land. After a hearing, the special master set the amount of one award at $3,111 and the other at $2,062. The awards, however, were not filed until November 13, 1997, six days after the hearing.
