The plaintiff, Bachman, brought this suit against the investment company Bear Stearns, charging violations of the RICO statute, 18 U.S.C. §§ 1961 et seq. The district court dismissed the suit for failure to state a claim, and so we treat as true the facts alleged in the complaint, though of course without vouching for their truth.
