The defendant, Brian Recasner, was charged by bill of information with possession of cocaine, a violation of La. R.S. 40:967. A jury found the defendant guilty of attempted possession of cocaine. La. R.S. 14:27; 40:967. The defendant was sentenced to thirty months at hard labor, suspended, and placed on five years active probation.
