In case No. 95-CF-238, defendant, James W. Brown, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery (720 ILCS 5/12-4(a) (West 1994)) and was sentenced to a 24-month term of probation. Subsequently, in case No. 96-CF-145, defendant was convicted of aggravated battery with a firearm, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm without the requisite firearm owner's...
