Defendant was charged with the crimes of murder in the second degree in violation of Penal Law § 125.25 (4) and manslaughter in the first degree in violation of Penal Law § 125.20 (4) after the body of her three-year-old son was found floating in the Hudson River in the City of Albany. At the conclusion of the trial, at which defendant asserted that she was not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect, defendant was found guilty of murder...
