TASHIMA, Circuit Judge:

Hoai Bao appeals his conviction for conspiracy to traffic in, and trafficking in, counterfeit computer documentation and packaging in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 371 and 2318. Bao argues that an exculpatory statement he made to a newspaper reporter was erroneously excluded at trial.
