OPINION.

JONES, Vice Chief Justice.

¶ 1 A jury convicted defendant George Russell Kayer of first-degree murder for taking the life of Delbert L. Haas. The jury also convicted him of other felonies related to the killing. Because defendant was sentenced to death on the murder charge, direct appeal of all convictions and sentences to this court is mandatory pursuant to Rules 26.15 and 31.2(b) of the Arizona Rules of Criminal Procedure.
