This certified appeal arises out of the trial court's suspension of the defendant, Alan Spirer, from the practice of law, following his felony convictions in federal court. The principal issue is whether the trial court properly exercised its discretion in imposing on the defendant a six month suspension, or whether, as claimed by the plaintiff, the statewide grievance committee (committee), the court was required to impose
