The issue in this appeal is whether the trial court properly granted class action certification with respect to the plaintiffs' claims under the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA), General Statutes § 42-110a et seq. The plaintiffs alleged in their complaint that the defendants' improper operation of a landfill polluted the area surrounding the plaintiffs' homes and violated CUTPA.
