In the first appeal, a prior panel affirmed the convictions of Ruben Gil Becerra ("Becerra"), Aureliano Salinas, Sr. ("Salinas, Sr."), Aureliano Salinas, Jr. ("Salinas, Jr."), Alberico Salinas ("Beco")1
