The defendant, Nelson D. Taylor, Jr., was charged by indictment number 4-97-562 with one count of forcible rape, a violation of La.R.S. 14:42.1, and with one count of aggravated burglary, a violation of La.R.S. 14:60. Under indictment number 5-96-802, he was also charged with two counts of aggravated rape (counts I and IV), violations of La.R.S. 14:42, and with four counts of aggravated burglary (counts II, III, V, and VI), violations
