Bernice Cowan was a commissioned insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Company of America. When her sales production dropped to the second lowest in her office, she was terminated but later reinstated by an arbitrator. Soon thereafter she took disability leave and was again terminated when she did not return to work after her leave expired. She sued Prudential for sex discrimination, retaliation...
