It is well settled that the State has a duty to maintain its roadways in a reasonably safe condition and that such duty extends to trees adjacent to a road which could reasonably be expected to pose danger to travelers (see, Fowle v State of New York, 187 A.D.2d 698; Rinaldi v State of New York, 49 A.D.2d 361
