This is a writ application from Relator, Garland Newman. Relator was convicted of driving under the influence of intoxicating beverages, second offense, which is a violation of La.R.S. 14:98. He was sentenced to ninety days in the parish jail. The sentence was suspended, and he was placed on supervised probation for one year or until his driver's license is returned, whichever is longer. Additionally, Relator was ordered to pay a fine of $750.00 plus costs...
