The defendant, Derrick Maxie, was found guilty by a jury of one count of attempted second degree murder and one count of armed robbery. The defendant was sentenced to serve twenty years at hard labor for the second degree murder conviction and fifteen years at hard labor, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence, for the armed robbery conviction, with the sentences to be served consecutively.
