By bill of information dated April 5, 1994, defendant was charged with simple burglary; and, he pleaded not guilty. On August 23, 1994, he was tried by a six-member jury that found him guilty as charged. On October 5, 1994, defendant was sentenced to five years at hard labor; and, the State filed a multiple bill.
