David Johnson was charged in an indictment with possession of two unregistered firearms in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 5861(d) and with unlawfully manufacturing two firearms in violation of 26 U.S.C. §§ 5822 and 5861(f). The jury returned a verdict of guilty on the possession charge but was unable to reach a verdict with respect to the manufacturing charge.
