Carmen Schulze and Albert Scales ("the plaintiffs") sued DeKalb County, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners and two DeKalb County paramedics for injuries suffered by their minor son, Albert Scales IV ("Albert IV"). The plaintiffs alleged that as a result of the paramedics' negligence in timely failing to diagnose Schulze's pregnancy complications and transport her to the hospital prior to the birth of Albert IV, he suffered from fetal distress...
