Virginia C. Reed (Reed) was injured in a rear-end collision on December 11, 1995. She sued Roy Allen Recard, the driver of the vehicle that struck her van, as well as his liability insurer, Patterson Insurance Company, and her uninsured motorist insurer, Allstate Insurance Company.
