After a jury trial, appellant was convicted of threats to do bodily harm, in violation of D.C.Code § 22-507 (1996). The government's evidence showed that appellant was arrested for traffic violations after a high-speed chase in which he drove his car through a residential area for several blocks at a speed of almost ninety miles an hour.
