This appeal arises from a contested adoption proceeding in which the trial court terminated the parental rights of the child's legal father, and approved the child's adoption by its step-father. We hold that an indigent legal parent is entitled to appointed counsel in an adoption proceeding that involves the involuntary termination of his or her parental rights pursuant to section 63.072(1), Florida Statutes (1993).
