In early 1996, Pifen Lo, her common-law husband Ming Jin, and Yu Chu were criminal co-defendants charged with several violent and non-violent felonies. Their case was assigned to Superior Court Judge George W. Trammell, III for motions and trial. In January 1996, Lo pled guilty.
