ANDERSON, Justice.

This case requires us to address whether a cause of action for uninsured motorist (UM) benefits accrues on the date of the accident or on the date the insurer rejects the claim. Respondent Shari Weeks was injured in a car accident on July 4, 1987, while she was a passenger in a friend's car. The friend's car was hit from behind by two other cars, but the drivers of the other cars fled the scene and were never identified. Weeks...
