Defendant was indicted for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-7b, and possession of a prohibited weapon, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3d. Defendant filed a motion to suppress on the ground that the evidence against him had been obtained in an illegal search. The trial court denied the motion.
