FOTI, J.

The petitioner, Percy Mejia, appeals from the judgment of the habeas court dismissing his petition for a writ of habeas corpus. Following the habeas court's dismissal of his petition, the petitioner filed a request for certification to appeal to this court, which was granted. We affirm the judgment.
