Respondent was admitted to the practice of law by this Court on February 20, 1973, and maintained an office in Auburn. On December 22, 1997, respondent was convicted upon his plea of guilty in the Federal District Court for the Northern District of New York of knowing possession of a firearm at a time when he was an unlawful user of a controlled substance, in violation of 18 USC § 922 (g).
