SMITH, J.

The defendant was indicted for parental kidnapping (G. L. c. 265, § 26A), and for violating a restraining order (G. L. c. 209A). Later, he was also indicted for intimidation of a witness (G. L. c. 268, § 13B).

Prior to trial, the defendant filed a motion to suppress statements that he had made to the police. After an evidentiary hearing, a Superior Court judge denied the defendant's motion...
